Short answer: Our customer satisfaction survey shows that it is, in particular, other people’s experiences and a positive first point of contact that encourage customers to take the plunge and start disposing of their medicines. It’s normal to have doubts; having the right information at the right time makes all the difference.

Almost no one starts sorting their medicines without having some doubts. Yet they take the plunge. When does that ‘lightbulb moment’ happen? From our customer satisfaction survey conducted in June 2026 amongst 1,010 customers, we know quite precisely what made people take the plunge and start separating their medicines, and what this tells us about what constitutes a good decision.

In this article, we’ll go through the main reasons, along with the figures and the stories behind them.

The two most frequently mentioned factors

Two factors clearly recur most frequently in customers’ responses. Around 16 per cent cite positive reviews and testimonials from others as decisive. People read about others’ experiences on Instagram, via Google or through others, and recognised themselves in the stories of those who had already started. In addition, around 14 per cent mention a positive and prompt initial contact as the point at which their doubts were dispelled: the way Goodweigh responded to an initial enquiry or during the introductory conversation instilled sufficient confidence to get started. Next came convenience and accessibility: the option to stop whenever it didn’t suit them, without long-term commitments and with a simple sign-up process.

The power of personal stories

One customer put it this way: “I’ve heard good stories on Instagram; I’ve already tried so many things, and this really is my last attempt – and it’s actually working. I’m so happy. “ Experiences like this achieve something that figures alone cannot: they make an abstract treatment concrete and personal. On our reviews page, you can read more stories from customers who have already taken this step.

Why the first point of contact is so important

Almost 14 per cent cite the first point of contact as crucial, and it’s an underestimated moment. Anyone who is in doubt and asks a question is actually expecting two things at once: a clear answer to the specific question and the feeling of being taken seriously. A quick, personalised response breaks the spiral of doubt, whilst a generic or slow response, on the contrary, reinforces it.

That is why the initial consultation at Goodweigh is deliberately structured with a focus on personal contact. If you have any questions before or during your treatment, you can always contact our customer service team. Are you curious to see how this works in practice? ‘Easy to get started’: what this means in practice

A third theme that comes up repeatedly is the option to get started without any major commitments. One customer described it as follows: ‘Easy to get started. I could give it a go and then cancel if I wanted to.’ People do not want to commit to a long-term programme before they know whether a treatment works for them.

The Goodweigh weight-loss programme is therefore designed to be flexible: you start following an initial medical consultation and can stop the treatment whenever it suits your situation, in consultation with your practitioner. This flexibility makes the first step psychologically safer, precisely because getting started does not require an irreversible decision.

Unanswered questions: why it pays to ask questions in advance

Customers who hesitated longer before getting started were more likely to state in the survey that they had questions beforehand which had not been fully answered. This does not suggest a problem with the hesitation itself: hesitation when making a medical decision is healthy and normal. However, it does show that unanswered questions can affect the experience afterwards, and that it is therefore worth asking these questions in advance rather than bringing them into the treatment. The more thoroughly your questions and expectations have been discussed beforehand, the better the treatment will suit your needs. Are you still unsure about anything? Check the frequently asked questions, or ask your question directly before you begin.

What does a good decision look like?

A good decision isn’t impulsive, but neither is it put off indefinitely. The clients who are most satisfied afterwards are those who’ve had their questions answered: through reviews, through a good initial consultation, or through clear information that gave them a sense of what they were getting into. Doubt is a healthy part of any medical decision. As soon as you have the information you need, any further delay is no longer caution, but procrastination.

Are you ready to take the plunge?

If you’re reading this and recognise yourself in the doubts, the questions and the search for reassurance, you’re probably further along than you think. The step that helped clients the most in our survey was quite simply getting in touch and asking a question: for 14 per cent of them, this proved to be the turning point.
