This medication is used to treat diabetes and is used “off-label” for weight loss in adults with a BMI of ≥30 or ≥27 and weight-related complications. It suppresses appetite, promotes weight loss, and helps lower high blood sugar levels.
This medication comes in a pre-filled injection pen. Each pen contains 4 doses. One dose is injected once a week. The patient can administer the injection themselves. This solution is available in various strengths ranging from 0.25 mg to 1.0 mg.

The medication is injected under the skin in the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm once a week on a set day. The time of day and whether it is taken with meals are up to you, but a set time may make it easier to remember the dose.
The scheduled day may be changed, provided there are at least 3 days between two injections.
Start:
The starting dose is 0.25 mg per week and is increased after 4 weeks to 0.5 mg.
After at least 4 weeks on 0.5 mg, the dose may be increased to 1 mg and, if necessary, to 2 mg per week. If you miss a dose, take it within 5 days. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the dose and resume the normal dosing schedule.
Once your prescription has been approved, you will receive an email and/or a text message allowing you to schedule a delivery time. In most cases, the medication will be delivered as early as the next business day. Prescription medications cannot be returned for hygiene and health reasons.
